Updating and uninstalling

Update

  1. Stop Watcher with Ctrl+C.

  2. Install the latest Alpha:

    npm install --save-dev @elixir-nexus/watcher@alpha
  3. Start Watcher again:

    npx watcher start

Expected result: Watcher starts with the new version, shown in the dashboard header and by npx watcher --version. History is migrated automatically.

Downgrade

Downgrades are unsupported. An older version preserves data written by a newer one, but may disable history because it cannot read the newer database. Upgrading again is the recommended fix.

Uninstall

  1. Stop Watcher.

  2. If you manually added @elixir-nexus/watcher/reporter to your Playwright config, remove it.

  3. Uninstall the package:

    npm uninstall @elixir-nexus/watcher
  4. Optionally delete .watcher/. This removes your local run history.

  5. Remove any .watcher/ line you added to .gitignore.

Expected result: your project runs with Playwright exactly as before. Watcher never changed your configuration or tests, so nothing else needs to be undone.
